Custormer Reviews
Good Item
by R. Phillips , 2010-09-08
I took my son & two other friends charter fly-in fishing in Canadian wilderness, noone for 100 miles. Thought these would help keep us keep in touch, and they were great. Usually I could communicate fine even though the other boat with the other two guys was out of sight. This was largely flat country, Northern Ontario, but the 35 mile claim by the manufacturer is a stretch. More like 2-3 miles max. But for the money they are totally great and well-worth the price, in fact, a bargain. We were in extreme wilderness, and it was really nice being able to pick up and make sure all was ok with the other boat, especially when I hadn't seen them in a few hours. When it started getting dark it was nice to know they were on their way in and doing fine. Good purchase, good equipment. By the way, these got rough, outdoor treatment. We didn't drop them over the side of the boat, but that's about all that wasn't done to them!
Perfect little walkie-talkies..

We lost one, but at this price that is ok.. Will order some more for the family as these work great. Next time we will label them as ours.
Too Many Technical Problems
by Carol , 2010-08-20
The walkie-talkies took three days to set up so that both parties could be heard. You need to go through a number of steps to set the sound up. It should be easier, but now it works all right.
Works great!

We bought these Motorola radios for our road trip with some friends from California to Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun to use these on the road and talk to each other in different cars. It took about five minutes for us to figure out which radio frequency to put them on to get the radios to talk with our friends' radios, but we got it figured out. During part of our trip, we did some volunteer preaching work in Idaho. The radios worked well when in closer ranges in the more lived-in areas, but out in the rural areas, reception was not as good. The vibrate setting came in handy though when we needed to be contacted but were busy with our preaching work. The only place we got zero signal was inside of Yellowstone where we were surrounded by trees. But other than that, these worked great on our trip. The best thing, in my opinion, was Amazon's price! Best Buy wanted right around $100 for this exact model.
Dosen't meet expectations
by RSCBiology , 2010-08-09
I have purchased many Motorola two-way radios over the years, and they continue to disapppoint. They stop working very soon and the advertized range is a joke, even on very flat terrain. For this one, after about a week, it began turning itself off when I pushed the talk button; very problematic when issuing instructions to four other vehicles driving in a foreign country when I am the only one who knows where we are going.
I must be insane for continuing to spend money on them. The problem is that I need them for my a specific function in my work. Price doesn't seem to be an issue with these radios. When they work, they work great, but they cannot be counted on in crunch time. I buy 6 at a time, and one or two always fail.
